Isabella Harumi & Bruna Duarte Field Trip to São Paulo

Field Trip  to  São  Paulo :

Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de São Paulo:

By : Bruna Duarte, nº 28.
The São Francisco Law School (in Portuguese: "Faculdade de Direito do Largo de São Francisco") is the oldest law school in Brazil. It was built by Brazilian regent Dom Pedro I on August 11, 1827 and it was founded a few years after the proclamation of the Independence of Brazil. The law school was very important for the administration of the Brazilian Empire. The school was rebuilt many times .
Many of Brazilian politicians and famous writers have studied at Largo de São Francisco, such as Castro Alves, Álvares de Azevedo, Fagundes Varela, Rui Barbosa, Monteiro Lobato. Students come from all over the country to study in the São Francisco Law School. The school was ranked many times the as the best Law School in Brazil.
My classmates and I went to visit the law school on the 23rd of August, 2016. It was amazing! We got to see the inside of the school and we also learned about what it was like to go there from the law student's perspective. What I liked the most about the school, was the fact that it was the oldest law school in Brazil. My classmates also liked the architecture of the school, everything about it was antique and beautiful.

The time didn't preserve an image about how was the Pateo do Collegio, in the bringing of its foundation, but thanks to one of the founders of São Paulo the minister José de Anchieta, he wrote in his journal how it was.
Made of mud and sticks and covered with straw, was fourteen steps of length and ten of width, where are the infirmary, school, the dormitory, the refectory, the kitchen and the waiver ,all in one place.
Nowadays it is greater, made of bricks painted blue and white with several monuments and the history of the foundation of São Paulo.
